Bio

The White Jacket is an American rock band from Honolulu, Hawaii. As songwriters they draw influence from the likes of Incubus, 311, Muse and Rage Against the Machine to name a few. As evidenced by their debut album, however, the band is clearly forging a distinctive sound rooted in driving rock guitars, cohesive, radio-ready song structures and strong, melodic vocals.

The band was formed in 2010 by guitarist Dustin Dobos and vocalist Joe Baiera, long-time friends and musical collaborators who relocated to Hawaii from their home state of Ohio earlier that year. Bassist Rockland Freitas, born and raised in Hawaii, was first to join their ranks. Within weeks, guitarist Elton DuBois, also from Ohio, and drummer Brandon Patrick from Tennessee were asked to join the band after a series of highly successful rehearsals together.

Despite forming only 2 short years ago, The White Jacket have already performed on some of Oahu’s biggest stages. In September, the band was asked to open for Chevelle at Honolulu’s newest venue The Republik, playing to a sold-out crowd of rowdy hard-rock fans.

Just a week later the band performed at Hard Rock Café Honolulu for the official release of their self-produced debut album ‘5,000 Miles From High St,’ which the Honolulu Weekly called “… a collection of 10 spanking good original songs.” The publication also went on to say “A favorite among the raging pool of rock bands that make up the island’s ever-growing indie music scene, the quintet have an amped and devoted following.”

Though the band currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii, their aspirations reach far beyond the beautiful shores of their hometown. Realizing that exposure is limited in such an isolated locale, they hope to take their talents to the mainland to tour the US while simultaneously producing follow-up albums to the already successful ‘5,000 Miles’ disc. Looking ever forward, onward and upward, The White Jacket have their sights set on commercial success across the US.
