Bio
The 27s, though obvious of name, are not your average pub-circuit band. This three-piece are old school friends that, after a few earlier encounters, decided to mould their love of loud garage rock, punk and nu-metal. The resulting sound was a rough, punky, un-honed loudness that was all exciting, but was missing the vital ingredient of 'catchiness'.
Releasing debut EP 'I'm Really Not Happy About This' a mere 3 months after first jamming, it captures some of this loud rough-around-the-edges rock (Now, Go Away), but also shows a softer side (Isolo). The key track of the EP was "It was Nice Knowing You", which shows a clear development in their collaborative songwriting - with quirky beats and a loud-quiet dynamic throughout.
Though gigging solidly for a year all around Kent and having airtime on local radio stations, meanwhile gaining a small, yet dedicated following, they are yet to be snapped up by a record label though some new songs in the pipeline (rumoured to be part of a new album) may well turn some heads.
