The 42nd Generation

42nd Generation Ministries (InnerCity Disciples of Christ) is a group of believers “Reaching out to touch the community around us while Reaching in to build the community among us. We are a group of radicals that seeks to make disciples. In our lives, Jesus Christ is magnified through dynamic worship, intentional evangelism, personal discipleship, caring ministry, and loving fellowship. InnerCity Disciples of Christ is a ministry which exist to: Celebrate God’s Presence, Communicate God’s Word, Educate God’s People, Incorporate God’s Family, and Demonstrate God’s Love. We’re a group of Christ-centered believers who touch lives, reach people, and equip every member to share God’s love. In a world filled with darkness, we all need light. Light to guide us through the storms. Light to brighten a cloudy day and warm our spirits. Light to reveal truths, answers and understanding. Jesus is that light. All of our beliefs are based on the Bible and guided by the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is the literal and inerrant word of God and that Jesus Christ is the son of God who became man to die on the cross for our sins. We believe that our purpose in life is to glorify and worship God in everything we do. Our ministry practices and guidelines are an outgrowth from two key statements of Jesus Christ known as the Great Commission (Matt.28:18-20) and the Great Commandment (Matt.22:36-40).
