Bio

The 911 Reporters hail from Huntsville, Alabama. It consists of five members Darius “DJ” Malone, Drums, Jason Sellers, Keys, Andre Waldon, Percussion and Lyricist, Eric Ramey, Bass Guitar, and Kameron Pearson, Keytar. The band later added mutual friend and musician Samuel Alexandre, Synth and Vocoder.

The 911 Reporters formed in January 2011 by the coming together of friends, Eric, DJ and Kameron meeting Jason and Andre. While they had been affiliates for years, separately, going to college together, playing around in the area at gigs or unconsciously crossing paths, the forming of the band could only come together through the time that elapsed. The ideals The Reporters stand behind, which motivate their “innovative-pop” sound/genre, are staying true to one’s-self, by not conforming to environmental demands granting sincere inspiration and motivation to their listeners.

The band’s first performance, hereinafter referred to as “reports”, was at Oakwood University in Huntsville at a campus association’s program called “Art and Soul”, which is a spoken-word/artistic expression organization that at the time was headed-up by the group’s own Andre Waldon. The positive feedback from their report was encouragement to continue forward. From there, the band exploited every opportunity to report. Playing at open-mics in Huntsville, Maryland, Birmingham, Nashville and Atlanta. The Reporters opened for PJ Morton at his summer tour kick-off concert in June 2011 at the Soul Lounge in Huntsville. The band also released their EP in June ’11 and has been since, surfing sound waves to listeners.

The 911 Reporters have just begun their journey and are looking forward to being positive role models and a driving force toward revolutionizing the music industry through recreating genuine-authentic music.
