ZAK DANIELS / An ultra rare acoustic performance

Inside Tips / Cool Bands and Hot Licks
Zak Daniels, Venice California's resident Rock n' Roll maniac who usually performs kick-ass rock with his all-pro longtime band "The One Eyed Snakes," will display another dimension to his craft that very few have ever heard or seen. I was surprised to find that this rock maniac can make an acoustic guitar sing, and also writes some of the most engaging Americana/Folk Rock I've heard in years.
The first time I listened to his CD of acoustic flavored songs, I couldn't believe it was the same hard rockin' wild front-man that I'd seen rattle walls, steal hearts, and rock the house and foundation of LA's largest and loudest venues. How could this sweet acoustic sound have been written and performed by the same man who wrote hard rockers like “Southern Belle,” and “Getting Ready for the Kill?” I'm thinking that maybe there are two people living in Zak’s body?
"Jimmy the Kat" (Lead guitarist for the O.E.S.) will be joining Zak on this rare acoustic outing. The sound they make together through the magic of steel strings, aged wood, and stellar musicianship, can seduce you into becoming a willing traveler as they lead you on a journey through beautiful terrain, dark mysterious mind-scapes, and rest stops lit up bright with humor. The final destination is unknown, but you won’t care because the journey is so much fun. Nonetheless, don't be lulled into a false sense of safety by the beauty of the music, because a snake can strike when you least expect it, and powerful venomous lyrics can shoot fast from the flash of those piercing shiny white fangs. Check out this excerpt from the song “Lost in America” and you’ll see what I mean.
One more notch on the handle
One more pop of the gun
One more fist raised in anger
Oh yeah... Now we’re havin' fun
In this land of milk and honey
We've got a gun for everyone
Another Schoolyard stained with blood
Oh yeah... Now we're having fun
And we're Lost in America
Lost in America, where...
Everybody’s got their very own gun
Drive By - Bang Bang
Schoolyard - Blood stain
Now we're havin' so much fun
And we're Lost in America
Lost in America, where...
Everybody’s got... their very own gun

Zak told me that although he used to play an acoustic show about once a year in L.A., and still plays a few on the road between O.E.S. shows, he hasn't booked one here for over seven years. So the phrase "Ultra Rare" is not just hype. This will be a special treat for longtime fans of "Zak Daniels and the One Eyed Snakes," and a "Must See" for anyone who loves great songwriting and acoustic guitars. I'm giving this show my "Suzee's Hot Tip of the Month" pick.
Even maniacs and rattlesnakes have soft white underbellies... don't miss it when this one shows his! I'll be there, just look for a sexy chick in leopard skin print with a camera around her neck, and that'll be me... Suzee Creamcheese. If you spot me, come over and say hello.

The Abrahams
(Our self titled debut)
Photos
Bio
We realized early on that all of the musicians in the band had terrible memories. Notwithstanding, we couldn't remember each other's names. The solution: Everyone in the band changed their name to Abraham. Hence: "The Abrahams" were born.
Now, when someone yells out "Abe" at rehearsal, they have the full attention of every member. And yes, we all lived happily ever after.
Peace Out,
Abe
