Biography

Hailing from the metropolis of College Station, Texas, The Accessories are a trio of experienced musicians hellbent on making music like you’ve never heard before. This experimental rock band consists of vocalist Josef Pierre, bassist Kyle Brosch, and drummer Barrett Hughes. The band originally formed as a side project of Raptors in the Rafters in July of 2009. The group’s goal was to experiment with many different styles and manufacture a sound that fit their distinct personalities and musical techniques. The three guys have come from very different backgrounds but bring their various characteristics together to make The Accessories music a modern day example of genre-defying artwork. The trio has spent the first months of their existence playing shows sparingly but focusing much of their time on their debut EP, Accessorize. Accessorize is available for download on March 30, 2010.

Frustrating is a great way to describe the College Station Music Scene for rock musicians. Country music is supreme in the Aggieland. Local rock musicians know that it is hard to draw a good number of people at shows without fame, radio play, or music videos on MTV. Good local music is unappreciated; this is evident from empty shows, fair-weather fans and the urge for most College Station bands to always travel to Austin, Houston, or Dallas to play the majority of their shows. Despite the bleak circumstances, music is still alive. The Accessories are convinced they are destined for bigger things. Discontent with sounding like some bigger acts to easily gain fans, The Accessories have unapologetically created their unique music and demanded listeners to shut up and listen and then either hate it or love it.

To describe the members style in one word:

Josef- Creative

Kyle- Funky

Barrett- Structure

The mixture of these three characteristics is completely necessary as Josef is the dreamer type who would assuredly take the music is directions that it couldn’t and shouldn’t go. Kyle would play all day and they would never get anything done. Barrett forces the other two to focus their ideas and create actual songs. When you put them together the balance is just right. From pop to rap to metal and back. They don’t make em like this anymore; then again they probably never did. Enjoy the Accessories and know that the best is yet to come for this young trio.
