Biography

The Accidentz are a Canadian rock band that formed in Shawnigan Lake in 2008. The group was formed when Jordan Brockhurst (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Cam Jervis (lead guitar), began an acoustic project where they opened for local bands, and played community fundraisers as well as fairs. Soon after, they asked Nick Chu (drums, backing vocals) to join forces. The group then set out to find a bass player. After trying out two local musicians they found Brett 'Plugger' Hux (bass) and The Accidentz were born.

After performing at school fundraisers, The Accidentz began gigging throughout Victoria and The Cowichan Valley, playing at such establishments as Lucky Bar, The Fernwood Inn, The Duncan Garage, Frances Kelsey Theater, Swans Brewpub, and The Cobble Hill Hall.

Their musical influences include The Beatles, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins, Tokyo Police Club, Weezer, and The Who.

The Accidentz' sound has been described as dynamic rock ranging from classic to contemporary, loud to soft, mellow to energetic. Their singles "What's Left", "You Used To", and "Andy" have been widely acclaimed. By combining high-powered performances with a unique sound, The Accidentz have established themselves as one of the most exciting up-and-coming bands around.
