London/St. Thomas Band The Affair will be rocking Harris Park on the second stage for four sets on Thursday. The Affair's final set is just before Weezer headlines at Rock The Park XI's opening night. The Affair's members are big weezer fans.
The Affair
London/St. Thomas band with a Yarmouth jam and practice space has two former Moondog Uproar members - Aaron Ambrose and Matt Varey- joing bassist Andrew Maxwell. The Affair's debut album, "Remember to Forget", has been helmed by Goderich-area production ace Siegfried Meier. Set for Sept 13 release show at Princess Ave Playhouse. St. Thomas artist Katherine Medlyn wanted to generate some positive traffic in the city's downtown Saturday afternoon, so she shut down Mondamin Street.
She filled it with bands playing live music and booths offering paintings and children's activities and called it Street Art, a mini-street festival she hopes to repeat in August.
St. Thomas band The Affair performed on Saturday, with London group High School Sweetheart scheduled for later in the day.
The Elgin County Library had a booth that let visitors make flowers out of recycled books and the St. Thomas and Elgin Public Arts Centre offered children the chance to make monsters out of clay.
Medlyn hopes to get as many kids as possible involved in the next edition of Street Art, which is set for Aug. 17. There will be a low rate for booths from people younger than 18, she said. - Sun Media

Hailing from Southwestern Ontario, The Affair are a 3 piece rock band featuring long time friends : Aaron Ambrose (Guitar/Vocals), Andrew Maxwell (Bass), and Matt Varey (Drums).
Forming in early 2013 the boys wasted no time bringing their sound from the jam room to the live stage. Starting in Toronto (Mod Club, Drake Hotel, Rivoli) and local London (Call the Office) the boys are looking to move onward and take their live show across Canada in the new year. In late April the band travelled to Beach Road Studios in Goderich to work along side Juno winning producer Seigfried Meier. In one afternoon the boys recorded the 4 tracks that would stand to be their debut EP "Live at Beach Road".
The band is currently locked in the jam room writing and producing the songs that will comprise their first Full Length record. They are hopeful for an early 2014 release date.
