The three of us met at Purchase College Music Conservatory. The same one Reginia Spektor went to and according to Wikipedia that guy from the Presidents of the United States of America. I never really know how much to trust wikipedia though. Let's just say he did. Ok, so we were all part of a tight knit little community of songwriters at Purchase that all played in each others bands (Jenny Owen Youngs, Kiss Kiss, Gregory and The Hawk ...). The First Age of Rockets album was actually my (Andrew's) senior project. I threw a couple tracks on myspace just for a lark and people seemed to really like it. (Truth be told I never even got around to actually turning in the project). Enough interest was sparked and I ended up just getting it pressed. Since then we have toured The UK and the US and are working on a follow up album. The follow up i think will end up significantly more organic than the last one and be much more orchestra driven. No wait that sounds a little pretentious ... Think of it more like the synth being replaced by a string quartet and the electronic drums are now playful back and forth between real and electronic drums. This self descriptive bio thing is making me feel very self conscious so I am just gonna quit while I am (hopefully) Ahead.
