"The Alexis P. Suter Band - Press Quotes"

ALEXIS P. SUTER BAND PRESS QUOTES

"It's a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady."
BB KING

“A legend in the making.”
ROB BARTLETT from the “Imus In The Morning Show”

Alexis P. Suter has a big voice and knows how to use it. Whether singing about
spiritual ecstasy or earthly troubles, her booming contralto, seasoned with raw emotion and wide streak of attitude, make every song she performs her own.
KAY CORDTZ, Blues Revue Magazine

In recent years, only Macy Gray has possessed the same genuine, soul saving star power as Suter, and not surprisingly, Shuga Fix offers a similarly irresistible blend of poetic poignancy and modern day nostalgia. The difference, however, is that Suter seems far more grounded in her endeavors and thus provides a bit more hope that R&B will be saved from the emotionless personalities that are currently being manufactured in the corporate board rooms of the major labels.
JOHN METZGER, The Music Box

What a voice, and she uses it to highly emotive effect! Fierce and ferocious!
LEE HILDEBRAND, Living Blues Magazine

Suter is as fascinating to watch as to hear, A stunning, ample woman with the face of a cherubic African queen, her molasses contralto can whisper and purr, then swell into a pulsating wave of sound that radiates from the depths of her being.
ELMORE MAGAZINE

The Alexis P. Suter Band, however, does not simply warm up the crowd for Helm, whose vocals shaped most of The Band’s legendary songs.
Suter cries and croons, belting out soul songs as if they were baseballs — and she was hitting cleanup. The rest of the band lays down a groove of girders and guard rails, shellacked with a sonic shine.
JOHN BARRY, The Poughkeepsie Journal

She's got a voice that could bring down the tower of Babel. She may be the best blues singer on the east coast. She's played the Midnight Rambles with Levon Helm for over two years now, but she should be playing in palaces and kingdoms to kings and queens. If there's any justice she'll soon be playing on the worlds biggest and nation's best to huge crowds of appreciative fans.
JOE VIGNOLA, The Long Island Blues Society Newsletter

Remember the name Alexis P. Suter, because with her talent and voice she is on her way to being a big star!
DANSPAPERS

Alexis rumbles lowdown and magnificent. "All I can say is that anytime Alexis Suter offers you a "Shuga Fix", you should take it!!
DOC' BLUES, LI Blues Jam

Powerful? Yes. Sensitive? Yes. A vocalist with an unprecedented voice? Absolutely.
THE BLUES NEWSMAN

Alexis P. Suter is a singer with a passionate powerful effective voice!
VINCENT ZUMEL, La Hora Del Blues

“One of the most original and unique female Gospel/blues belter, Alexis P. Suter absolutely bowled over the audience.”

Alexis P. Suter is a rising star on the roots, blues and soul scene. Her powerful bass/baritone voice, seasoned with raw emotion and a wide streak of attitude, has won the praise of greats from B.B. King to Levon Helm. "She is one of those wonderful spirits,” said Helm. “She's got her arms around you. You can feel that."

A true vocal phenomenon, Suter has been astounding audiences up and down the east coast for the past few years, backed by her tight, soul-rocking ensemble. The band is anchored by Ray Grappone’s solid, funky beats and Peter Bennett on bass. Guitarist Jimmy Bennett plays stinging guitar,
Benny Harrison adds his passionate keyboard wizardry and soulful singers
Vicki Bell, Glenn Turner and Linda Pino ramp up the intensity that has captured the attention of some of the best players around.

The Alexis P. Suter Band have had the honor of opening the show at the acclaimed Levon Helm Midnight Ramble Sessions in Woodstock, NY over 90 times. The APS band have also performed at festivals including the Pocono Blues Fest, The Mississippi Valley Blues Fest, The WC Handy Blues BBQ, Virginia Blues and Jazz Fest and the New York State Blues Fest among many others. Along with The Levon Helm Band, they played sold-out shows at the Beacon Theater in New York City, Bethel Woods Center For The Arts, The Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, NJ and Central Park’s Summerstage.
