Feeling a bit camera shy

Michael Tighe – vocals/guitar
Parker Kindred – drums/vocals
Andrew Wyatt – bass/keyboards/vocals

The A.M. arrive in style with their stunning, self-titled debut album.

The A.M. feature Michael Tighe (vocals, guitar) and Parker Kindred (drums, vocals). Both musicians featured in the late, great Jeff Buckley’s band. The band is completed with musical powerhouse Andrew Wyatt on bass, keyboards and backing vocals.

Michael Tighe collaborated with Jeff Buckley on such seminal works as ‘So Real’, ‘Vancouver’ and ‘Moodswing Whiskey’. Parker Kindred has been hailed as having ‘the best right foot in New York’ by Time Out NY and has played with stalwarts such as The Mooney Suzuki and Grand Mal.

The three musicians view The A.M. as a state of mind and a state of soul; the late night and the early morning - the lucid hours of half-dream states where universal and personal themes connect to form songs of stark realization and hope.

The band are at the centre of the re-emergence of glam-rock’s influence in New York’s music scene along with the likes of TV on the Radio and The Walkmen. It’s is a darker take on glam, influenced, as it is, by New York Dolls, Velvet Underground and early Roxy Music. A careful listener can even find funk and even hip hop lurking in the fringes of The A.M.

The band have just completed a 10 date tour of France. In November, they will head off for their debut tour of Australia.
