The Amazing THE

The Amazing THE is a five piece original glam rock band from international origins but currently based in Paris. Three words ‘Extravagant’, ‘Energetic’ and ‘Inventive’. They have achieved an excellent reputation as performers in France putting on over 40 shows in several cities (Paris, Lille, Strasbourg…) but have also seduced Anglo-Saxon audiences having performed in both London and the United States (Nashville, Memphis).

The Amazing THE are especially distinctive by the sound of their music. Whilst many bands of this generation play Indie or Metal influenced music THE take their musical inspirations in the great names of High Energy music such as MC5, The New York Dolls, The Sweet, Motley Crue and The Rolling Stones. The band’s Lyrics are characteristic as they create a contrast whit traditional glam rock by placing their emphasis and their quality and theatricality Influenced by great lyricists such as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. Creating an elegant, sensual, vigorous but nonetheless violent mix.

The band is known to put on an outstanding show on stage. Carried by their highly energetic and charismatic frontman Felix Sullivan (from Montreal, Canada) whose performance draws the perfect line between madness devotion. Supported on lead guitar by Nik Von Hesse (Munich, Germany) the principal source of the Glam attitude of the band. The drummer Gab Surfa (Paris, France) has achieved a mastery of his instrument rarely equalled by musicians of his age. Hence supporting the bands riffs by powerful but yet elaborated beats. On Bass and supporting vocals Jason Sperry (Toronto, Canada), recruited from a notorious funk band, puts the G of Groove into Glam. Takumi Iida (Tokyo, Japan) On Rhythmic guitar, drafted from the famous Parisian high-energy psychedelic Jam band Aqua Nebula Oscilliator, is responsible for all the power riffs.

Previously linked to the record label Le Petit Poucet Records and to the International High fashion brand Marithe+ Francois Girbaud (www.girbaud.com) The Amazing THE travelled to BlackBird Studios (Nashville, Tennessee) to record their first EP, produced by Patrick Derivaz (New York, US http://patrickderivaz.com/live/)
The EP was released for promotional purposes on vinyl only. In 2008 they travelled across the USA to shoot promotional material for both LPP and M+FG and craft some yet unreleased recordings at the Sound Factory (Idaho). THE were responsible for the composition of the music for the 2007 Fashion week show for M+FG. The spring 2008 campaign was based around the. M+FG have more than a hundred selling points worldwide.
