The American Rails

Formed in 2012 by Randy Martin (banjo) and Stephanie Liu (flute) The American Rails needed a songwriter and singer. The two found April Barreiro through an ad on craigslist. April had shared the stage with Randy many years before doing her solo stuff and Randy was excited to work with her. The three began working on stuff together and playing around New Mexico with various fill in instruments. In early 2013, April invited fellow singer/songwriter Jeff Hoffmann to the mix and the four became the foundation for The American Rails. Later joined by Matthew tobias (drums) and Jon McMillann the band recorded there first demo/ep and released it in September of 2013.
