"Local Bands Rock For a Good Cause"

The Surfrider Foundation is an international nonprofit that focuses on coastline protection and enjoyment. Its four Hawai`i chapters work on issues like water quality, access and responsible development. In an ongoing look at live music in the islands, HPR's Noe Tanigawa found a couple of Hawai`i's best bands at a recent Surfrider Foundation benefit.

The Throwdowns perform for the Surfrider Foundation tonight at the Lava Lounge on Kaua`i and Saturday night at Mulligan's in Wailea, Maui. Saturday is international "Hands Across the Sand" day in support of sustainable energy and against offshore drilling. Check surfrider.org for information. Analogic performs every Saturday night at Coconut Willies in Waikiki.

Bio

On the heels of their first EP "Analogic" (March 2010) The Analogic is back in the studio recording new material. They are once again focused on their purpose as a band: To write, record, and perform music that gets people moving.
Within the last six months The Analogic have been reviewed by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, interviewed on Hawaii Public Radio, the Honolulu Weekly and the 808 Scenezine. They have appeared in Honolulu Midweek and were featured on the KHON2 morning news performing their own compositions.
The Analogic look forward to expanding their fan base through upcoming exposure from local print and radio media. But one goal that this musical outfit always works towards is refining their music and their performances. They are creating a sound that gets people up and wanting more.
