"All in the Family"

“The kids in Chungli know how to party, and often follow their locally based band The Anglers to Taipei when they play. The Anglers are not only all cute, they also play a groovy, chilled out, down-home rock/funk music that gets everyone dancing.”
-Alita Rickards, The China Post - The China Post

"the Anglers"

“Earthy, organic, acoustic sounds without the fluff. These guys sing and play good ol’ down to earth, real Canadian music. Great vocals with some tasteful instrumental work and darn good song writin’.”
-John Wort Hannam, South Country Fair - John Wort Hannam, South County Fair

"The Anglers looking to reel you in"

“The charismatic Cook, sporting his trademark mutton chops, performed his frontman duties well, getting people moving. The rest of the band help up their end as well, laying down a solid, infectious groove.”
-Adam Goring, Banff Crag & Canyon - Adam Goring, Banff Crag & Canyon

Bio

The Anglers come from Canada and South Africa but met serendiptiously in Taiwan, where they were all teaching kindergarten. In a few years of weekends they've managed to play all over the island, get the attention of national english-language radio & print media, & build a solid, sweaty fanbase of foreigners & locals with their marathon sets of roots & reggae grooves.

They have lately turned to the Canadian market, & are gradually making inroads there, with two succesful summer tours of festivals & bars that included stops at the North & South Country Fairs, Starbelly Jam in the Kootenays, Fred Eaglesmith's charity picnic, the Sasquatch Festival, Waynefest, the Railway Club in vancouver, & the Black Dog & Sidetrack Cafe in edmonton. Scott toured across the country solo in the summer & fall of 2005 & will return for a longer stay in 2006. He is currently working on his first full-length solo album, to be released in the summer of 2006.
