Bio

In an age littered with garage band producers, rampant internet blogging and un-authorized remixing, The Angry Kids have raised the bar on what it takes to be electronic musicians, and have produced a true album. Their self-titled debut, The Angry Kids, is a timeless indie-dance record that combines fully authorized appearances from internationally recognized artists, original material, and legitimate sample-based compositions.

This is the way dance music is supposed to sound and feel.

The Angry Kids are neither kids nor angry, much. They are actually seasoned industry pros (Ryan “ry2K” Wilock and Jeff “Beckstein” Beck) with a penchant for bombast. Soon after forming, the group hit #1 in Canada with their single “Mr. Brown” (featuring the legendary Bob Marley), popped up on DMC’s Buzzchart, and earned a spot on the prestigious Now 13! album, leading to major record deals around the world. Canadian indie Last Gang Records (Metric, Tiga, MSTRKRT, Boys Noize, Crystal Castles), in Italy with the stalwart Energy Production/D:Vision (Dennis Ferrer, Benny Benassi, Deep Dish), Netherlands’ landmark Spinnin’ Records (Ian Carey, Sander van Doorn) and countess others spanning the globe were quick to get behind the group and their Bob Marley powered club anthem.

What this duo creates positions them as front-line Producers, DJ's, & Remixers. Über hot fellow Canadian Lights (Saviour), massive alt-radio group 30 Seconds to Mars (Hurricane), world famous DJ Tiësto (Feel It In My Bones featuring Tegan & Sara), UK alt-rock darlings Scanners (We Never Close Our Eyes) for Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak imprint, and fellow Canadian Indie group Fan Death (Crowd Control) have all enlisted their services.

The full-length album features fully cleared appearances by A Flock Of Seagulls, Bob Marley, The People Movers (C-Lime Woman), Portland Oregon rockers The Lives of Famous Men, in addition to the new single, “Wouldn’t It Be Good”, which features the fully authorized vocals of Nik Kershaw. This is testament to the belief the music industry has in this outfit. Not only do The Angry Kids go through the appropriate stages to ensure that all of their samples are authorized for release via artist and sample owner, they receive the permission to release them as original recordings – this is a feat not to be overlooked.
