Feeling a bit camera shy

It happened in the natural way:
Boys meet girl and the love of good music, cheap beer and summer parties turns them into a band.

Sara, James and Aaron met in the summer of 2003. They've been playing ever since, during which time they recorded an EP, almost killed each other (as all good family-like units do) and, on occasion, searched for a new drummer when the current one moved home, went away to school or spontaneously combusted.

Matthew found them in the fall of 2005, after leaving The Shrills. After playing together a few times, they all blushed awkwardly, toed the ground, and decided to go steady.

Now, 8 months later, James, Sara and Matthew cohabitate in a big house in NE Portland, and Aaron lives next door with his girlfriend. They all eat fresh greens and veggies picked from their garden, make/drink homebrewed beer and have bbqs stocked with beer, babes and beef (as well as some tofu for their vege-loving friends).

The Angry Orts play a mix of indie-rock and smart dance-pop. Their influences are broad and include The Breeders, Hank Williams, The Gossip, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The White Stripes. Most of their music is upbeat, danceable pop, but on occasion they delve into sweet, wistful altcountry. Currently, they're saving up their pennies to get back into the studio and record a new EP.
