Bio
The Anyways are a young band based in and around Tarbert, Argyll. They started as a four piece early in 2008, and consisted of: Callum Arnot - vocals; Jason Brown - guitar; Angus ‘Goose’ McMillan - bass guitar and Ally Stuart - drums. They recruited Jonathan ‘Rainman’ Matthews in December 2008 as a second guitarist and since then have continued to play local gigs in the Argyll area. Recently however, they have begun to set their sights further afield, playing in the Corran Hall in Oban, The Basement in Cumbernauld and the recent ‘Live and Unsigned’ competition which took them to the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow and to the Journal Tyne Theatre in Newcastle, which hosted the Scotland and North East Area Final.
They have also recorded four of their own songs at Ça Va studios in Glasgow. Dogfight, the first song they recorded is a fusion between a heavy rock chorus and funk verses. For Hope and Steel String Jockeys were both recorded on their next visit to the studios. For Hope is a powerful rock ballad with complex interwoven bass and guitar lines, while Steel String Jockeys is a good old rock and roll song. Should Opportunity was then recorded at their latest session, and is the boys’ most popular song to date.
