Also known as: Sgt. Mackey Rubenstien.

Age: 22.

Bands: The Apple Pirates with Mike Gillotti and Eric Dabrowski (myspace.com/theapplepiratesmatey) and a solo side project called Mimic.

Next gigs: The Apple Pirates play March 12, 19 and 26 at Daniel Street, with a different set each night (including a Zappa set on March 26). We picked bands we really like to play with us.

Music style: Classical, piano rock, Latin, jazz, free form, funk, Nintendo.

Armed with: Old Korg stage piano, Roland synth, brain, kitten, expendable Midi controller, battle hammer.

Wishes he had: At least two more sets of arms and a grand piano.

First record bought: Aerosmith, Big Ones.

First concert: Dave Brubeck at Quinnipiac College, '93.

Best show seen at the New Haven Coliseum: Probably Ice Capades.

Listening to: Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention, Absolutely Free.

While cleaning: The Very Best of David Hasselhoff.

Album that changed his life: Frank Zappa, Apostrophe (')/Over-Nite Sensation.

First notes: The grand wizard struck me with lightening at the early age of three, molding my brain into piano keys.

Always wins: Moon toss.

Always loses: Money tree.

Buy him a drink: Vodka and beach party, no antler.

Last thing he chugged: Pasta.

Favorite Web site: Google maps.

Film: Spaceballs.

Under his bed: Lobsters and secrets.

Most memorable local shows: When I saw Lamb Bombs perform with a unicycle bear, my face nearly melted into the floor.

Also found: Battling evil, saving babies.

Fun facts about Sean: I can only grow goatees and sideburns. I can also skateboard and play violin.

If he were a pizza, the toppings would be: Tortoise and ice cream.

Question he wished we asked: What's your favorite unicorn saddle?

Bio

A cosmic triple party of unicorn champions ride into battle brandishing filtbiant synth leads and facial hair. Led by Sean Rainey(keys, vocals, synth, chair tossing, space travel) and accompanied by Cambodian born Mike Gillotti(drums) and lumber-human-super-jack Eric Dabrowski(bass), they will melt your face, take your hand and throw you down a staircase of ear candy, only to realize that the stairs were real and you spilled your beverage. With the energy two, maybe three, oxen, the Apples Pirates will deliver in less than thirty minutes. Problems solved. Pescone.
