I had the pleasure of watching the band perform in the finals of Alberta's Last Band Standing Competition. Seventy seven bands started the competition and The Apresnos made it to the final round beating out even the most seasoned artists from all over the province. The band carried themselves with poise and confidence. Their performance was inventive, original and inspired. I have spent over twenty years in the music business as an artist and performer. “The guys were full hot - from beginning to end they were excellent. The music was tight, starting and stopping, together and bringing dynamic volume and enthusiasm changes tightly together. The shirts- ties and black and white theme of clothing and general appearance was retro-Beatles or Retro-Talking Heads, but the music was so much more raw and closer to gritty, and I for one thought that this contrast between what we saw and what we heard was really interesting. You might let your daughter go out on a date with someone who looked so respectable, but you might not expect them to play the ass of their guitar or sing with that degree of unbridled passion....and I really like that effect of contrast.”

It has been said that if Danko Jones and The Foo Fighters had a love child it would be The Apresnos. Don't let their well tailored style fool you -The Apresnos are a high energy rock band that deliver a raw rock performance that will make your adrenaline pump and have you on your feet.
With diligent hard work, The Apresnos got a break when they beat out 11 other bands in a competition and won the opportunity to open for Edmonton Indie Rockers, Social Code and caught the interest of music industry professionals. They have since been invited to open for Our Lady Peace and have also shared the stage with Tupelo Honey, Grady (Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar), Ill Scarlett, Sweatshop Union, Flash Lightnin, and Daniel Wesley, which has solidified the group’s reputation within the indie rock scene.
In 2010, The Apresnos were selected as one of 72 bands to take part in Alberta’s Last Band Standing. This talented group advanced through six rounds of the competition to reach the finals finishing in 3rd place overall gaining the attention of competition judge, producer, and Econoline Crush frontman, Trevor Hurst.
Recently, The Apresnos released their first EP "Deny, Deny Deny", produced by Trevor Hurst, at the Juno Award winning MCC Recording studio in Calgary, Alberta with award winning engineer, Johnny Gasparic at the reins. Their first single "Boots" debuted in the top 100 of the Active Canadian Rock Charts. This was followed up with an official music video for "Boots" and a second single "Determination" set to be released in October of 2012.
With their well tailored style (this clean cut group always performs in shirts and ties), and incredible talents The Apresnos have branded themselves with a solid reputation in the world of indie rock.
