Bio

The autumn’s resonance is a multi-instrumental, multi-media performance of traditional stringed instruments, analog tape loops, drum machines percussion, a Casio and many amplifiers used to ensemble an orchestra or sound & rhythm which is slightly improvised, site-specific.

The autumn’s resonance works to establish harmony and dissonance among backgrounds in architecture and music through various experiments in which rhythmic, structural, theoretical and critical parallels arise. The music focuses on finding timbre and tonality specific to each instrument’s voice at the sacrifice of traditional tuning standards and playing techniques. Songs take form of compositions that uniquely converge pop melodies with folk-like guitar work that is always struggling to find rhythm against the analog textures of the beat-box beyond. Live performance is an event in which compositions are created on-site, piece by piece.

The autumn’s resonance is largely created and performed by Edward Lalonde who has been playing music for over 20 years and has been part of several rock bands from the 1990’s, which played and toured the Pacific Northwest. Groups include Camero, flycatcher, Alvar Aalto and Boxer among others. Today, the autumn’s resonance is New York City-based and has just completed a second recording, TWO, which contains 6 original pieces.
