Batten down the hatches and light the torches. The Arrangement is the Paul Revere of music. It is a rallying cry on swift horseback, a revolving lighthouse floodlight penetrating wind, ice, rain, and snow. The Birmingham-based quintet lives in a succession of tensions: little tic-addled songs that breathe deadlines, generated by dual-turreted guitars that spiral up the rhythm section like a neon double helix. Lead singer Joel Owen's sentences are proclamatory, repeated in half-human/half-machine cadences, chopped in half with jarring syntax -- every thing a siren, every thing a flashing light. While hardly revolutionary, The Arrangement is nonetheless reactionary, and thrillingly so. To paraphrase Eubanks, the band's music is "a voice in the darkness, a knock at the door". The Arrangement’s hook-heavy guitar pop has electrified audiences and exploded them onto the Birmingham music scene. Lead singer/guitarist Joel Owen magnetic charisma and vocal ability immediately illuminates a room and commanding an audience. Bassist/vocalist Beau Treadwell’s unique style compliments the more improvisational and equally engaging chords of guitarists’ Daryl Jones and Seth Mitchell, while drummer Mikal Thompson completes the 5 piece as the driving force of their high energy sound of controlled chaos. In just 6 short months of playing together The Arrangement have blended melodic influences with mainstream pop and created a magnetic sound that is rapidly attracting fans of all backgrounds. In less than 15 performances with basically no promotio their audiences have grown from less than 50 to over 200 people a show. To paraphrase local DJ Ken Webb of 100.5 FM, they are a band that is ready to take us out of a musical coma with strong songs and an even stronger stage presence.
After maxing out capacity at their last few shows, The Arrangement steadily continues to maximize their time offstage by continually writing new songs to unleash on their ever-growing fan base one sold out show at a time. This groundswell of a movement has seen there practice sessions that draw 30-40 people alone on Thursday nights. The Arrangement has caused a buzz in the Birmingham rock scene that is truly unprecedented in this short of a time frame. This group of one time friends turned musical family is truly the heartbeat of the Birmingham music scene and will soon become the pulse of a worldwide movement.
