Biography

The Assistants are a band that was formed in Toronto in 2004. Gaining influence from various pop and experimental genres they craft a mix of folk and futurism. Playing numerous gigs around the city the band has begun to establish a name for themselves as a distinct and formidable songwriting outfit.

The two main vocalists, Kiley Meehan (guitars/synth) and Ciaran Megahey (guitars/synth) provide a harmonic foil for each others’ songs. Michael Auduong (bass) along with Adam Boyle (drums) fill out the rhythm section. Although the band draw influence from some familiar places as well as some obscure ones their music tells its own story; simple songwriting aesthetics and sound that wavers between psychedelic folk, 60’s pop and early electronic music.

The band is currently working on their first release.
