Bio
The Atlantic Divide, from Chicago, are a band who feel they've truly allowed themselves to do what comes naturally, always letting fate play it's role in defining their sound. They bring a perfect balance of intensity and subtlety to their live shows, at times soaring and atmospheric, other times hushed and emotive. Sometimes haunting and dark, sometimes uplifting, their songs and lyrics center around danger and romance, love and disaster, spies, explorers, ocean travels and being optimistic no matter how bad the odds.
Formed in 2004 as a three-piece, the band revealed an immense sound for their size, and fans were quick to notice influences from bands like The Cure, The Catherine Wheel, Sunny Day Real Estate, Hum, Swervedriver, and other related bands. In early 2006, original members Michael Gallegly, vocals and guitar, and Joe Palacios, bass, added new drummer Adam Zeciri and additional guitarist/keyboardist Jamie Motz and found the exact combination they'd hoped for. Their first few shows revealed an obvious progression in their sound - bigger, better songs and a wider range of moods. Musically and lyrically, they've found the perfect formula for sticking to their natural instincts.
Additionally, the band will release it's first album, With The Grace Of A Time Bomb, in the spring of 2007, including eight songs recording in November at Million Yen Studios in Chicago.
