The Atomic Love Bombs

The Atomic Love Bombs

 San Francisco, California, USA
BandAlternativeRock

Psychedelic indie rock in the vein of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Velvet Underground, Echo & The Bunnymen.

Biography

The Atomic Love Bombs have been performing in the Northwest, California and NY with bands like Brian Jonestown Massacre, British Sea Power and Ulrich Schnauss; and tirelessly writing and recording new material over the past 10 years. They caught the eye of Scott Frampton who described the band in his column for CMJ New Music Monthly magazine, as "...simply my favourite new San Francisco band. If I said that their sound was a combination of the Velvets, T. Rex and Spiritualized with a dash of Yo La Tengo, it wouldn't do them justice."

The Atomic Love Bombs have released two full length albums, High Again and Let It Burn and the EP It's the New Emma Jane. Their songs have appeared on soundtracks, ASCAP and samplers; and featured in CMJ New Music Monthly magazine.

Their upcoming album, The Sun Machine, will be the fourth release from The Atomic Love Bombs The single “100 Mile Freefall #3” and it’s b-side, a haunting cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” can be found on iTunes..

Lyrics

100 Mile Freefall #2

Written By: Mitch

A hundred miles of emptiness
It’s lonely here but I confess
That it feels so good
Falling to the earth below
Warm myself in the sun’s glow
And it feels so good
Please don’t leave me behind
Bailing out I’m panicked and resigned
I’m coming down again
Spinning through the clouds and I
Watch the stars rise in the sky
And I close my eyes
To think about my family
I know their down there watching me
And they close their eyes
Please don’t leave me behind
Bailing out I’m panicked and resigned
I’m coming down again
I see you in the darkest sun
I know you’re there I see you run
But I don’t know why
I’ve been bad and I’ve been good
You said you’d leave I knew you would
But I don’t know why
Please don’t leave me behind
Bailing out I’m panicked and resigned
I’m coming down again
Please don’t leave me…

Get the Yeah Yeahs Out

Written By: Mitch

Gonna try and fake it through another day
Watch the sun and hope it fades away
Let’s close the blinds and lock the door
C’mon girl let’s get higher than before
Streak the glass and dress me up in white
Dream a dream under the crystal light
Let’s close our eyes pretend there’s more
C’mon girl let’s get higher than before
Let’s get higher than before...
Another day another week goes by
Watch the sun it’s strung out in the sky
Let’s lose our minds and die some more
C’mon girl let’s get higher than before
Let’s get higher than before...

Let It Burn (Song for Anton Newcombe)

Written By: Mitch

Yeah, I’m down when you’re up
I see the fire is burning
In your eyes again
Girl, I’ve had enough
And I’m alive when you’re down
Well take another piece of me
And leave me here alone
And watch me drown
Take another turn
You light the fire
And let it burn
Suicide isn’t enough
I’ll give you fifty dollars
If you tell me you’ve been
Burning on that junk
And I’m down but I survive
‘cause I love the way you look at me
It’s all I got left
To feel alive
Take another turn
You light the fire
And let it burn
And I’m low when you’re high
I saw you with that fucker
In your car again
Makes we want to die
And I’m down when you’re up
I see the fire is burning
Up our lives again
Now I’ve had enough
Take another turn
You light the fire
And let it burn
Let it burn...

I’ve been bad and I’ve been good
You said you’d leave I knew you would
But I won’t ask why

Please don’t leave me behind
Bailing out in panic, I’m resigned
I’m coming down again

Please don’t leave me…
