Alford Avenue

Who is Alford Avenue ? We started about 4 years ago in Hoover, a town right outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Lead singer, Kris Cody lived in a neighborhood off Alford Ave. For a while we did not have a name, but we decided since that was where we started we would name our band Alford Avenue. At first it was Kris Cody ( guitar, vocals ), Jesse Hayes ( bass ) and Brandon Lemly ( drums ). We tried out different guitar players,but could'nt find a match. Cody decided to try his little cousin Chad Tyler; he was young but we knew he would be loyal and not be an ass. He fit in good so we started playing shows around Birmingham . Things went good for a while, but brandon started acting seperated so we were forced to let him go. We looked for a new drummer just about everywhere but couldn't find the perfect fit. We were at the point that we didn't know what to do. Then we thought of something we should of thought of way before, which was to get Cody's dad Bo Wilson to play. We talked to Bo about it and he said he would do it, so we were finally back on the scene. Their was still one thing that was holding us back, a demo. Chad knew this girl who worked at a management company in Hoover, Alabama, she got us set up to play as an audition for them to sign us. They liked us and sent us to Nashville, Tenn. to record at the Sound Kitchen, we only got three songs done. We were supposed to go back but our manager kept putting us off, we eventually got tired of it and got out of the contract. This set us back for a couple months, until we decided that we would just have to do it ourselves. To do this we would need a fifth member, so we added Chad's stepdad Taz Turner as lead guitarist. Chad and Cody then decided to get a studio/production company going, so we could not only record an album, but also they could do what the've always wanted to do which is recording/producing. Greenwood Studios and the Avenue Productions has become a huge part in what we have accomplished so far, we are currently working on our first albumn which should be done by March ' 07, thanx for checking us out hope to here from you soon.
