We are The Axis Club, a 3-piece rock band from Los Angeles.
Earlier this year, Justin Slazinik (guitar, lead vocals), formerly of St. Louis' Sullen (Thick Records), left St. Louis and travelled westward for a change of scenery and hopefully a new band. With Mike Blackwell (drums) from Minneapolis following shortly behind, the two met up with LA's Tim Booras (bass, vocals) and The Axis Club was born.
A new band in LA with a midwest mentality, the Axis Club is just getting started. Having played 3 shows in two months, the band hopes the snowball will keep rolling. Collectively, members have toured the country several times and played with bands such as Jucifer, Verbena, Local H, the Wrens, Hum, Death from Above 1979, The Burning Brides, The Hold Steady, Veruca Salt, The Frogs, and both CMJ and SXSW music festivals. Justin's former band even did two major label showcases. All three band members are very experienced and very excited to be doing something new. The band is just finishing up on an 11-song CD produced by and featuring Scott Lucas of Local H.
We are a hard working band and this is the only thing the three of us care about and really love to do. We are ready to do whatever it takes, if given the opportunity! If you don't like what you see or hear what we hear, so be it. If you do? Well we hope to hear from you soon.
