The Bad Eskimo

The Bad Eskimo

BandFolkAcoustic

The Bad Eskimo is my Bowie-esque character that I created and perform as. Each song is a tale of his journey. I classify and coin my genre as "Psychadelicate" (i.e. Acoustic Psychadelic Folk Rock). My influences span all music types lending each song its own vibe and character.

Biography

My main influences are:
David Bowie (circa 66'-71'), Sly and the Family Stone, Joe Pass, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dylan, Nick Drake, Ben Harper, Josh Homme, The Pretty Things, John Frusciante, Supertramp (circa 70'-72'), Four Tet, etc.

I believe that performing as The Bad Eskimo (pseudo costumed) is my niche. I want to bring back the true Rock Opera, giving the audience something more than just a guy and a guitar on stage.

I was born in San Franicsco in 1986 to parents with careers in design and architecture. As a high energy kid, I suprisingly could manage to sit for long periods of time drawing animation figures. As I became interested in music and studied guitar, I found that same calm thrill of being in a creative mode.

Through the years our family moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles to Memphis to Bloomfield Hills Michigan, and finally to Las Vegas.

During high school in Michigan, I worked at Axis Music Academy as a guitar instructor. As the founding member and rythm guitarist of a band called Sheer Funk & Misery, we produced a CD and enjoyed local success.

After graduation I went to Chapman University in Orange, California. Business and economics classes were not as stimulating as I'd hoped, though songwriting and singing were.

Supported performances at many open mike nights and coffee houses in California and Vegas as The Bad Eskimo, confirmed my future direction.

Other than music my passsions include, post modern philosophy, cooking , and animation illustration, still.

In July 2007 I am moving back to Los Angeles to pursue music business opportunities.

Ice Age

Written By: The Bad-Eskimo

Ice Age

(Verse 1)
I was seduced by cleverness.
A double-minded person I guess.
It’s getting to cold it’s not my season now. I think to myself there must be a reason why.

I don’t believe.
I just deceive.
The people I’ve met.

(Chorus)
My face is turning blue.
What the hell am I to do?
I’m living in the Ice Age.
Now we’re on the same page.

(Verse 2)
I have sacome to emptiness.
I got it from a stranger for less.
I’m seeing double color-blind.
I think to myself I come from a different time…and that’s why.

I don’t believe.
I just deceive.
The people I’ve met.

(Chorus)
My face is turning blue.
What the hell am I to do?
I’m living in the Ice Age.
Now we’re on the same page.

(Bridge)
Don’t make me ask for more.
My egos on the floor.
I’ve seen a thing or two.
And that’s one more thing than you.

(Chorus)
My face is turning blue, and I don’t know what to do. What to do?
I was living in the Ice Age, now we’re on the same page.

The Mid-Day Stranger

Written By: The Bad-Eskimo

(Verse 1)
I want you to explain it to me again.
The plan of the Man is to bring me down.
Why can’t you understand these blueprints in my hand, in your face?
The coming of a second race that has come to soon.

(Chorus)
The Master of Illusion
Riddled with confusion now.
Make your enemies friends again.
The Mid-Day Stranger
Thought I was in danger now.
You couldn’t be more wrong my friend.

(Verse 2)
Such a lovely face, one that I can trace all the lines
back to your family tree, just you and me.
Renouncing all your faith in search of something new that relates, forget all the pearly gates.

(Chorus)
The Master of Illusion
Riddled with confusion now.
Make your enemies friends again.
The Mid-Day Stranger
Thought I was in danger now.
You couldn’t be more wrong my friend.
I think your going blind.

The Mid-Day Stranger
Thought I was in danger now.
You couldn’t be more wrong my friend…in the end…my good friend.

The King Of Clubs

Written By: The Bad-Eskimo

Verse 1:

The king of clubs, the queen of the crack house, the jack-knife of bad luck, your ace is in the cards. Table side scraps champagne and popcorn. The loud speakers on preaching how to get lost in your head. Preaching how to get lost on your own, all alone.

Verse 2:

Here’s a flower from my head for that empty vase in yours. Water it kindly, it’s not likely that you could. It’s not likely at all that you could.

Chorus:

You’re in a full house so delouse your over conceded life achievements.
Lets go to a full house with no ghosts just conquering super hero’s no zero’s at all.

Bridge:

Open a window in my head, but peak through it softly, it tastes like toffee sticking to your teeth and you know that that’s the only way to be at all.

Chorus: x 2
