THE BAD ONES

The Bad Ones formed in Houston, Texas in 2006 as a new project for three former members of The Ballistics, who were a Houston punk rock scene staple. In one form or another they have been playing in bands together since their early teens. In early 2010 they filled the lead guitar position with long time friend Brett Rhome. Drawing their influence from artists such as Iggy Pop, The Rolling Stones and The Dead Boys, the band is comprised of James Parker (vocals, guitar), Brett Rhome(lead guitar),Kelly Jacobs (bass), and Casey “What?, Yes!” Kemp (drums). Musically they conjure up the ghosts of delta blues men as well as the rockers that aped them in the 1960’s through the ’77 punk explosion. They are not, however, mere revivalists. Their sound has an approach that marries old standards with modern rock and roll aesthetics.

Known for their energetic and loud live shows they have developed a personal mantra, “we want to make your ears bleed and your faces melt.”

Their first self-titled EP ranges in sound from 80’s hardcore to blues driven rock to old Texas country. The lyrical themes incorporate heartbreak, murder and revolution. It was released on their own record label, A\V Club Records.
