The tracks on the upcoming album “It Happens” embody the discontent of young love, the reckless acts of the heartbroken and the lyrical revenge that leads to rebuilding. Written on whiskey-soaked cocktail napkins, most lines were originally a coping mechanism for Weathers’ recent cross-country moves and massive binge drinking induced by an inevitable divorce.
After returning to Nashville from the west coast, Weathers began assembling the scribbles into songs on the porch lined with beer bottles and cigarette butts. Further evolving, Weathers began testing out a full band sound with whoever came over before creating a lasting partnership with long-time friend, Josh Stevens (guitar). An accomplished guitarist and boldly experimental musician, Stevens brought a new personality to Weathers’ tunes. The two ran various line-ups of housemates and neighbors before finding current Bassist, JR Goleno and Drummer, Daniel Brasuell.
You can find the Bad Swears playing in Nashville, TN and recording their upcoming Album “It Happens” due out in August 2011.
