Biography

The core members of the band RANSOM have been playing together for eight years while the current lineup was completed in the summer of 2008 and can effectively handle anything from Classic and Southern Rock to Modern Country or Original material in the same vein and have just released a CD of originals called "Between Classic Rock and a Hard Place" which has been getting fantastic response and is currently getting heavy rotation airplay on several stations in Mississippi where the band performs on occasion. They are some of the most accomplished and popular musicians in the Atlanta Music scene.

The band features Two guitars, bass and drums and the members are experienced in the music they play and have collectively played in some of the top regional bands in the country and have opened for or played with such music luminaries as Confederate Railroad, T. Grahm Brown, Sylvia, Corey Smith, Waylon Jennings, Brantley Gilbert, George Jones to name but a few.

Mark Elliott is quite the showman and is often seen with his wireless mic in the crowd singing to and dancing with the ladies. These guys love getting out in the crowd and entertaining.

The two main vocalists each have their own distinctive styles. One of them is capable of belting out the soulful southern rock with the form and delivery that only a true southern boy can attain. The other has a smooth mellow voice that has been known to make the girls melt on those slow ballads that are done in a style that you have to experience to believe. Together these two can cover just about everything from Steven Perry to Johnny Cash and anything in between. And if that was not enough, the lead player is also capable of joining in for a couple lead vocals and adds his throat to the third part on the harmonies.

The band RANSOM is four piece group and is 100% self contained bringing both their personal back-line instruments, lights and, if needed, a PA system well in excess of 5,000 watts to cover any venue or event with clarity and ease so that the audience can hear and enjoy the show which contains the usual standard classics, originals and old hits that you just don't hear other bands play anymore. These guys have lived the songs they play and they LOVE playing them for YOUR crowd. They are equally as comfortable belting out Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd, grooving off on Wild Cherry’s song Play That Funky Music, getting the crowd slow dancing on Only GOD Knows Why by Kid Rock or Hank Williams Jrs. song Blues Man.

So, if you are looking for that special sound for your club or event, you do not have to look any farther that the band RANSOM.
