Bio
It all started in the summer of 2010, just four college grads from the Philadelphia region with no idea of where this was going lead them, if anywhere. The Band With No Name started out in a small basement with minimal equipment. After a lot of experimentation, the band came up with the distinct sound that defines them now: strong vocals, graceful melodies and surprising harmonies that challenge the listener but always satisfy the ear. Each member was able to bring their own unique set of talents and ideas to the mix:"We could never have done this kind of music without the people we have. For example, our vocalist is classically trained. She can sing anything. When we write a song, we're given so much freedom because of her abilities. It's the same with everybody else here. There' so much talent that allows us to experiment and try to push the boundaries of traditional contemporary music." -Emera Kim The band’s music is an eclectic mix of guitar-driven rock, broad piano arrangements, deep vocal harmonies and electronic synth and unusual percussive methods. They are known for using diverse instrumentation such as cello, the ocarina and Celtic harp in their traditional rock arrangements, creating songs that range from complex and almost epic sounding in nature to simple folk melodies with classical undertones.
