Biography

Hailing from Exmouth, Devon, The Beacons formed in early 2010. Taking influences from artists such as The Beatles, Kasabian and The Kinks has led the band to create an energetic, catchy and fresh sound that hooks the audience at every gig. Relentless touring and appearances on the major southwest radio stations has resulted in an army of loyal fans.

To date The Beacons have featured on BBC Radio Devon, BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Radio Cornwall, Exeter FM, Phonic FM, Bay FM and Riviera FM.

In April 2010 the band enjoyed a week at the top of the MySpace unsigned indie chart due to the number of visitors and plays on their homepage. This chart position helped to gain some national recognition and interest from independent labels and promoters soon followed.

In July 2010 The Beacons released their debut EP ‘Against the Grain’ recorded at Coombeshead Studios. Since its release ‘Against the Grain’ has received great reviews from fans, radio DJ’s and fellow artists.

In the near future The Beacons sights are set on a national tour and an album release. Please check the bands MySpace and Facebook for live dates and further information.
