The Beatitude

BandRockPunk

The band's own favorite description (although they're not quite sure they know what it means)came from a recordstore owner in Milwaukee,Wisconsin. He defined the music as "old-school no wave new york indiepunkrock"

Biography

By Lasse de Flon, Manager
Immediately and musically, similarities can be drawn to early B52's and probably also The Raincoats dashed with some Pixies and Siouxie and the banshees with the attitude of a punkband. The band has been on an acclaimed 2 week tour in the USA followed by 2 dates in Germany, along with the dates in their homeland Denmark during 2003 which gave them loads of connections and experience.
During 2004 the band teamed up with old fellow producer Peter Lehmann at Baandkraft Studios in Copenhagen and recorded their songs which, when i first heard them, made me so happy. It is skew and noisy rock'n'roll with a clear and carismatic female vocal, alongside the male chorus fill in, much attitude and a feedback violin with a wicked personality and driven with a furiuos drum and bass section.

Lyrics

Cacophony

Written By: Ursula Søndergaard

Give to me
Intensity
Hysteria
So obnoxiously
Hit me light
Blow me sound

Stretch my time-it’s like cosmology
Blow it up into the galaxy
Fill this bag with cacophony

Make me feel
So rioty
Scratch in me
So obnoxiously
Hit me light
Blow me sound

Jump

Written By: Ursula Søndergaard & Karin Jønch-Clausen

I’ll jump on this hierarchy
That started back in ancient Greece
And something lost in history
Is buried in the way we speak

Fuck the Greeks they laid the seed
For us to live in patriarchy
‘oh common that’s so passé’
we’ll stir you up'a-we’ll make you see it’s unfair

forward take me we’re behind
change the line
we will break this paradigm-it isn’t right
we know- maybe you don’t

I’ll jump on this hidden cheat
I’ll put the blame on all you sheep
You think that it’s so feminine
To think it’s not so bad today

We’ll punch-line your hidden fear
We’ll make you wanna be up here
When you don’t wanna take control
we’ll stir you up'a-we’ll make you see it’s unfair

forward take me we’re behind
change the line
we will break this paradigm-it isn’t right
we know- maybe you don’t
