"Three Creeps And A Lady"

Out of the blue a band called The Bees Knees have emerged and left every dance-floor they’ve played soaked with the sweat of able bodies. Be it a hard core hip-hop crowd, gay stand-up comedy fans, or electronic music geeks such as myself, everybody goes ape shit (just when I thought hipsters couldn’t dance any more retarted). This kind of crowd response is usually reserved for die-hard fans of super-status acts, yet The Bees command the same sort attention from complete strangers. They are the total package of talent, originality, fun, good looks (a marketer’s dream), and while the people shake their goods I can’t help but think it’s only a matter of time before they are signed, sealed, and delivered. I’m almost scared to see what they’ll sound like after some weathering. The lovely Billi D on vocals, S2 on sax, Wizabee on Guitar, and the one Scottfree holding down beats, synths, and other scapes are doing the damn thing. Keep an eye out and if you live in or near Chicago be sure to catch one of their performances (they only play like, every week). Peep the demo and links below for more info.

"Catch The Bees Knees!!!"

Buzz Worthy: The Bees Knees

In the last two years, Chicago has become an epicenter of emerging talent. With up and coming acts like The Cool Kids, Kid Sister and Flosstradamus making themselves household names, it makes sense that out of that fruit bowl of goodness there might come tumbling out a band which adds some funk - a whole lot of funk- to the party scene. The band I’m talking about, of course, is The Bees Knees and they’ve taken over with a new school approach to Parliament-esque, bass heavy, pulsating, fist-clutching, face-scrunching funk! After seeing The Bees Knees just once, you’ll know exactly what all the buzz is about. Say it with me slowly, Beeeeezzzz Kneeeezzzz.

Check them out Tuesday night, October 7th, at Sonotheque. - http://stopbeingfamous.wordpress.com/

"Electric Circus: Silence of Dirty Digital, The Bees Knees, The Primeridian, Garo, DJ Uncle El"

From the Music Editors:
If you want the best in jazz fusion, electronica, soul and hip-hop, look no further than the "Electric Circus" event held at the swanky Sonotheque lounge. The night (hosted by Cold Grums Productions) will feature a solid line-up of the best club performers in Chicago. Garo will likely kick things off with a batch of smooth analog beats (don't worry folks, they're danceable). And then there's Primeridian, who'll also be releasing its newest album, Da Mornin' Afta, which features some hip-hop heavyweights including Imani, Naledge, Iomos Marad and Nicolay.

As the evening progresses, things only get better with the soulful sounds of Bijou, followed by Silence, of club rappers Dirty Digital.

But the real highlight will come with a performance by The Beesknees, who mix synthesized beats with live instrumentation. This quartet seamlessly blends funk, soul, and elctronica in a way that is both pleasantly nostalgic and progressive (think of a late '60s Dionne Warwick collaborating with Tortured Soul). This free show will be one of the best Tuesday nights of the month so get there early and be ready to dance your ass off well into Wednesday morning. (J.Min) - www.centerstagechicago.com

These seasoned musicians hailing from Chicago have blended years of musical passion into a captivating and electrifying force. On stage, they command the attention of the audience with high energy electro-funk beats, sultry vocals, mind-melting guitars and the infamous space sax. The energy these four bring to the table is, truly, “the Bees Knees.”
