Bio
The Beta Rhythm formed in Austin, TX. with guitarist K. Pearce (Strange Attractors) and bassist M. Pineda (The Slanks). In 2010, after enlisting long time collaborator N. Singletary (The Weirding) on drums, the group added D. Hezlep (Audrey) on synth and organ. The band's sound blends heavy psychedelic rock, spaced out synth, a touch of prog, a dash of kraut rock, vocal harmonies...all at a dangerous volume.
The Beta Rhythm's influences are wide ranging. At any given moment, they might spew forth sounds reminiscent of Can, the 13th Floor Elevators, Black Sabbath, Velvet Underground, Soft Machine, Love, Spacemen 3,and Stereolab.
