The BETTY FORDS- Are a Punk Rock Band out of Detroit, fronted by singer-guitar player, John Danger, with bass player, Jake Ferry, drummer T. Burk.
Danger, Ferry, and T. grew up on the streets of Detroit, right smack in the middle of Detroit's Underground Punk Scene. In a city where so-called Classic Rock Bands sell out stadiums to adoring rednecks. And Punx are forced to pack in to the basements of clubs, with no heat in the winter, and no way out if someone decides to torch the place. From this angst derived the Raw Street Punk Rock sound that is The Betty Fords. Drawing from the Old Skool Punx, before them like The Clash, Black Flag and Dead Kennedys, but also appreciating country outlaws such as, Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, creates a volatile mix of uncompromising, unadulterated, Punk Rock, and Roll never before experienced.
The Music- Danger, and Ferry, write about the world in which they live, Addiction, Love, and Death, where the only way out is prison, suicide, or a 30 year sentence in the factory's of Detroit. Real life gut wrenching lyrics from the soul, to make you feel, and think. Set to a soundtrack of Punk Rock Guitar Riffs, roaring at you like a freight train from the speakers, that could only be fully appreciated dripping from sweat, and being crushed against the stage in the pit.
By now you either get it, or you don't. These guy's aren't following any trend, like the latest fad band that sell ten million records, and boasts "we don't even know how to tune our guitars" Or, some Faux Mohawk wearing Pop Punk Band, singing about how angry they are because their failing math…
BOTTOM LINE… THE BETTY FORDS, MAKE NO EXCUSE, HAVE NO REMORSE, and NO REGRETS…
