Bio

The Billings Band was formed by two friends, Gennard Lombardozzi and Willy Jacobson. The two grew up jammin' together in Montana, but college took them their separate ways. Gennard attended Concordia University in Minnesota and then earned a Master's degree in opera from the University of Tennessee. Jacobson attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. After college, both continued to pursue careers in music. Gennard performed in a classical vein which took him overseas for a time. Jacobson played his music in a folk rock style and enjoyed a 7 state tour. When the two reunited in 2004, they combined for a really unique style. They blend acoustic and electric sounds with strong vocal harmonies. Brian Herrin, an Iowa native, was picked up for his skills on keyboard, percussion and vocals. He had been quietly pursuing his interests in popular music while enjoying a successful opera career. Shawn Irwin, an award winning bluegrass harp player was recently added to give the band a unique and exciting twist. Josh Lowery, the band's newest member plays bass and adds a much needed colorful low end. Together, The Billings Band puts together a full and exciting sound. The group is currently playing venues in Knoxville, TN and planning a tour of the east coast and the midwest. Their influences include: Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Pearl Jam, The Counting Crows, John Mayer, and Gavin Degraw. The Billings Band is set apart by their vastly contrasting members that blend an unusual arrangement into a sound you can identify with.
