The Bjorn

We're just now finishing up the artwork for our upcoming EP. It's entitled "...from the land of ashes". The land of ashes is actually a translation of a tiny place, far out in the Swedish country side, called Asklanda. This is where we have our rehearsal pad and studio and this is where we all got together and jammed for the first time. It all started after a cover gig we did where we needed to hire Jonas to step in for our orginal drummer. We soon realized we all shared a similar taste in music so we decided to jam. So we did and the result of that first jam is actually the opening track on our EP. We came to realize that we really worked great together as composers and we worked fast so in eight rehearsals we had nine song. Six of them where recorded, four of them went ahead for mixing. We hired Ollie Olsen (Lady Sovereign, Robyn, Teddybears STHLM, etc.) to handle the mixing duties and he really captured the essence of The Bjorn.
One thing we always strive is to keep it real, to able to deliver the goods. We want it show that we're a live band, even in the recordings. That's why we choose to record it live just to get that feeling of a band playing together.
