Bio

Many bands play classic rock tunes, but not many can capture the powerful rhythm, blazing guitar solos, and stratospheric vocals of the originals. Sadly, those that try the hardest are often the furthest from the mark. The BLACK HAND is not one of these. With a rhythm section that takes its cues from the likes of John Bonham, Greg Ridley, and other pioneers of the 70's, Jeff Brems (drums) and Luke Venechuk (bass) carry the band's successes on their broad shoulders. The twin guitars of Nick Venechuk and Bobby Alvis not only recreate the intricate riffs of Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Marriott and others, but by using
two guitars where perhaps one was used originally, Venechuk and Alvis add another layer of heavy riffs during each other's solos. The two guitarists draw on their long history of musical collaboration to create intricate call-and-answer solos and riffs to further enhance every song that they play. Many bands claim to have a vocalist that can handle the heavy demands of songs like "Whole Lotta Love," "30 Days in the Hole,"
and "Heartbreaker/Livin' Lovin' Maid," but Bobby Alvis delivers in droves. Like few others, Alvis not only finds those alpine pitches, but belts them out with an intensity and feeling that have not been heard in years.
