Bio
Formed between four musician friends who were each looking for a new home for their song ideas,
the Black Stalks became a fully functioning and well drilled unit in the Spring of 2011. Since then
the floodgates for writing new songs have well and truly opened, arming the group with an exciting
and varied setlist of original material that moves minds and feet in equal measure. With influences
ranging from Sly and Family Stone to the Smiths, the sound of the Black Stalks is a melting pot of
psychedelia, blues and funk that packs a jangly punch. Fresh from a number of well received gigs
around Ireland, they are beginning to establish themselves as a must-see band on the local circuit
and beyond!
