Bio

In less than a year, The Blamers have gone from playing on a street corner in downtown Chicago, to gaining a loyal fan base and playing at top venues around Chicago. In March of 2008 The Blamers wrote their first song with only three members, Jeffrey and Patrick Campbell and Molly Shanahan. This threesome continued to create more songs and play open mic nights around the city, when Luke Willson, on trumpet and mandolin ,and Kyle Fitzgerald on bass joined the band to fill out their already unique sound. In the time that followed, The Blamers started booking shows around the city, played their first music festival, went in to the studio to begin recording their first EP and were offered a residency at Chicago’s most popular music venue, Elbo Room. Completing their sound, Eli Wing recently joined the band, adding his ten years of experience on drums.

Their sound has most commonly been compared to The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Velvet Underground, but their music is unlike anything else out there. The Blamers incorporate any instrument they can get their hands on, so each of their songs is interesting and different, kind of like snowflakes and pigeons. Jeffrey would describe their sound as “music in the mode of Indie Rock infused with the spirit of Classic Rock.” The talent and energy of these six artists really shines through in a live performance as they swiftly switch instruments and run through their repertoire of unique songs.
