"The Blend brings live beats to Oshkosh"

“They are very underrated. I don’t think they get enough recognition." - The Oshkosh Advance-Titan

"Bodog Music Review"

"The Blend made the night flow with smart, lyrical talent that was both imaginative and well delivered. The Blend brought old-school groove with Stevie Wonder-esq vocals..." -Shane Kramer (Bodog Music)
- Bodog

"From the fans' mouths"

"The Blend - I've stolen the cool posters for the Hip Hop concerts this band has done longer than I have listened to them...the diverse backgrounds of the band make these guys worth a listen even if you aren't into the hip hop genre." -bobuchan (Last FM Fan) - Last FM

"Band Finds Unity in Difference"

"...when on stage, they click."

- - Minnesota Daily

"Hip-Hop comes to MTU"

"The Blend has powerful lyrics with equally powerful music to ensure that the crowd that had gathered...felt the same way those on the stage felt."

"...The Blend was able to convince the audience to move their hands from their pockets into the air."
- MTU Lode

"The Blend: Outplaying Your Band"

"Between touring, music production and promoting all those upcoming releases, Morrison's scrambling. "It's like a Tom & Jerry cartoon where Tom is trying catch all the cups before they hit the ground," he says.

Luckily, he's got more energy than Tom. Not to mention a better way with words."
- Minneapolis City Pages

"Blending in"

"...The Blend played with furious purpose last Friday. What so many St. Thomas students missed out on was best phrased by a student walking out of the auditorium. 'Can Toussaint rap or what?'"
(Page 10) - The St. Thomas Aquinas

Founded by national slam poet/coffeehouse haunt Toussaint Morrison, The Blend is a five-piece concoction of working-class gentlemen who infuse hip-hop with jazz, rock with Bach, and politics with pleasure. (And some punky blues thrown in to keep the devils at bay.) The result? A slow-roasted, genre-defying blend of musical influences more restive than a triple shot of espresso. Call it hip-hop, call it slam-dance poetry, call it whatever you want-- just don’t call it emo. (Seriously. Don’t.) Weaving veracious lyrics through billows of gorgeous noise, the Blend has been deemed worthy enough to appear with the likes of Atmosphere, Saliva, Story of the Year, Mike Jones, P.O.S, and Brother Ali. This should come as no surprise, as The Blend is one of the most talented bands in the country, according to their mothers. Their ever-widening fan base and nationwide network of co-conspirators is a testament to their immense stage presence, compelling sound, and perverse willingness to traverse the country in a deteriorating mini-bus that gets 8 miles a gallon downhill. Despite receiving press from (The) USA Today, The Blend has yet to be discovered by the arbiters of musical taste. (Hint, hint.) The Blend’s latest creation of sound, their EP Losing the Game, is to be released this Fall 2008 on national tour and radio.
