The Blinding Lights

And so the year began with a fresh face. A new smile is born and grows as a laugh erupts from deep within a place that was once dark and hidden. The Blinding Lights have arisen, nay erupted! BUT, where will they go? As with all questions: Nobody really knows...

The Blinding Lights are: Michael Roberts, Leigh Bennett and Kerrod Gorst.

Burning Desire = Blinding Lights
After returning home to the Central Coast of NSW after a year and a half living and playing in Sydney and touring the East Coast, singer/bassist Michael Roberts decided it was time to form his own band to voice his thoughts and opinions whilst creating music that people could really feel. Music that could one day make a difference.

Coincedence?
Two weeks later at 2am on one colder December night, by chance, Michael ran into guitarist Leigh Bennett at a train station. At this meeting the decision was made then and there that Leigh would be the guitarist for what was to become the Blinding Lights. They'd never even played a note together. But hey! He wore glasses so he must be good..

Both quickly realised their shared passion for music, love and life as a whole. They starting working up new songs straight away out of a love for playing rather than a desire or a fantasy of taking it to the world. This would slowly start developing as the songs poured out. They both realised the picture wasn't complete with the two of them alone. They would need another.

A drummer leaving and another by-chance meeting at a club and the Blinding Lights were complete. Enter Kerrod Gorst: one hard hitting rock drummer.

Of The Music...
The music of the Blinding Lights stems from a place of honesty within the three players. A sense of excitement in the infinite possibilities that life presents. They sing of love and dreaming, of life and lives lived and since gone. A musical sound likened to alternative and rock giants such as the Smashing Pumpkins, U2 and Foo Fighters, the Blinding Lights deepest desire is to open peoples hearts and move them with their amazing music.
