Bio

The band, formerly known as "Selling Mary," began in 2000 by Todd Willoughby, Peter Tubbs, Adam Callaway, and Jeremy Allen. For four years, the band built a steady following across North and Central Alabama, playing shows with their melodic hard-core/jazz fusion style of music. In 2004 they picked up David Smith as second guitarist, and changed the band's name to The Bloodlet Signature. With a new sound and new EP, the band's following grew tremendously in a few months' time. In 2005, an amazing technical guitarist, Clay Gaddis, joined the group adding a "shred" side to The Bloodlet Signature's guitar arsenal. When one thought that the band could not be any bigger with their sound, Joel Owen, former lead singer of another local band called Promise the Ghost, joined the band as second vocalist early 2006. Along with bringing a beautiful, eccentric style of singing, Owen's merging to the band has brought many beloved old fans from his extensive vocal performance career. In their six year musical endevour, The Bloodlet Signature has played hundreds of shows across the Southeast opening for acts like Haste, Dope, Promise the Ghost, etc. and have become seasoned veterans at the art of music recording with several demos and two EPs under their belts. As unorthadox as it may seem in to have seven members in a modern underground band, rest assured, there are certainly no gimmicks as each member brings a very unique style of song writing and jointly contributes to the music making process. Much like a modern-day harder edged Lynrd Skynyrd or Allman Brothers Band, The Bloodlet Signature is bringing back an overgrown band sound in a fashion like no other before, merging styles of Hardcore, Classic Southern Rock, Emo, Metal, and Jazz. At their shows, one can expect an energetic, heart felt performance that delivers a wide range of song writing diversity. Sincere, humorous, or just damn goofy at times, The Bloodlet Signature is a musical interpretation of what life has to offer, and that is every emotion and feeling possible that a human being can experience.
