"Blue Pig Orchestra Release new EP"

'Starting to create waves in the North West are Blackpool based five piece The Blue Pig Orchestra and judging by their five track EP "Witches" it shouldn't be long before ripples are felt elsewhere. A murder, hanging, alcohol abuse all get a treatment that reminds me of the likes of The Men they Couldn't Hang, no bad thing and a reminder that the dark side of folk is far from dreary. There's energy aplenty with lots of good vocal interplay and exchanges. A good EP leaves you wanting more and this folk/americana blend definitely does that. Well worth checking out’. - FATEA

"Fell in Love With You - review"

The song creates a beautiful, melancholy mood, which is soothing and pleasantly blue. The guitar tone is wonderful, simple a perfect fit. - garageband

"Garageband review"

Very soothing acoustic melody. Great vocals. Lyrics were good. Guitar picking was nice. Very descriptive lyrics. This song put me in a somber mood. Very relaxing. Liked the idea of writing a song that goes " i didnt fall in love with (whoever else) i fell in love with you." Id like to know the story behind this song - garageband

Bio

As a band they have paid their dues playing rock and roll covers in the pubs and clubs of Lancashire. This shines through in their original music and live stage performances which are honest, powerful and exciting.

Their newly released debut EP ‘Witches’ contains songs about the Lancashire witch trials, a shipwreck off the Fylde coast and the CEO of Amazon and his desire to build a spaceship. The live set also contains songs about fracking and the decline of the fishing industry in Fleetwood, both issues with of huge local significance. And very much like the town they are from, the music can be raucous, loud and dirty. At other times however there is a subtlety and nuance that gives a feeling that you have been embraced by the inner circle of a funfair, tender honesty after show time.
