Bio

Singer/songwriter K.C. Camarillo fronts the band with honest emotion. This lady’s voice is bigger than she is; she commands attention when she starts to sing. KC began her musical career early in her hometown of Oakland, singing and acting in musicals at Woodminster Amphitheater. Although her early roots were Broadway musicals, she was strongly influenced by the gospel and soul music she heard growing up in Oakland. KC has been compared to Bonnie Raitt, Lydia Pense of Cold Blood, and Chaka Khan. Since moving to Sonoma County, she has earned her place as a North Bay Diva.

Lead Guitarist Mike Marino brings 40 years of playing experience to the group. Mike, who can lay down some sizzling, tasty licks, also plays slide guitar. He’s an excellent guitarist with a great singing style. Mike has toured with The Shirelles, The BluesAholics and many other well-known Southern California bands. Besides playing in the BluesBurners, Mike also builds guitar pedals for his own company, “Tone Candy”. He also moonlights as guitarist for the much-loved Sonoma County group, Kitty & The Delta Hairballs.

Rhythm guitarist David Camarillo, who also provides sound for the BluesBurners, is an intricate part to this tight rhythm section. He shows off his Oakland roots as he lays down some Eastbay funky grooves. Add his sexy baritone vocals and handsome looks and he is a triple threat!

Bassist Jim Allen is a veteran studio musician and live performer. Raised in Los Angeles, Jim studied music at UCLA and worked with many outstanding musicians including Richie Havens, Jai Winding, Danny Elfman and members of Oingo Boingo. Playing in clubs and festivals throughout California, he has shared the stage with Charlie Musselwhite, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Rick Derringer, Jefferson Starship, Shuggie Otis, and Bruce Willis. After relocating to the Bay area, Jim has continued to play and record with many local musicians including Sonny & The Blenders, Jackie Payne, Bautista, Jami Jamison and The Blues Burners. The BluesBurners are very happy to have Jim as part of their rhythm section.

Dynamic drummer Marlin Weitzel has a tasty style that forms the heartbeat of the band. Formerly with Michael Dolan and the infamous Moron Project, Marlin has played extensively with fine musicians from his home state of Ohio all the way to the Bay Area. Marlin provides excellent background vocals to this tight rhythm section.
