The Blue Stragglers

The Blue Stragglers are a musically brilliant compilation of artists from North Jersey. We play all sorts of music, everything from a soft ballad to a great rock and roll song to a funky jazz riff. We love to play music. That's it, it is that simple we do what we love. Our combination of musical experience we have as a group is enough to fill a few lifetimes. Our name "The Blue Stragglers" is actually an astrological term. A blue straggler is another name for a blue star. The properties a blue star may have are what we would like to achieve as a band. We would like to have everything we perform be like a giant Super Nova explosion for all the world to see. Blue stars are large, they burn their fuel quickly, which gives them a very high temperature. A blue straggler is some of the brightest stars. Like a light house, they shine across a great distance. Even though blue stars are rare, they make up many of the stars we see at night. Blue giant stars die in a spectacular way as well. They grow larger just like the Sun sized stars, but then instead of shrinking and forming a planetary nebula they explode in what is called a super nova. Super nova explosions can be brighter than an entire galaxy, and can be seen from very far away. The Blue Stragglers consists of seasoned musicians that have accomplishments such as Broadway, and World Tours. We are a more mature group of guys now, we have been around many different blocks. We still maintain a youthful spirit in music for all generations. We appeal to both sexes as different as our natures may be. Music unifies our souls. The musicians balance and counterbalance of water, air,earth and fire helps us to create our own style, our own sound. Encompassing vocal, string, percussion, woodwind and brass instrumentation.
We write songs with deep philosophical and metaphysical messages but still remaining simple and straight ahead tunes. Derived from basic relatable stories and life experiences. We enjoy playing together and as a solo/duo as well. For years we have all done a myriad of cover songs spanning the decades. We enjoy playing live music especially when the band is tight, together and the people love the music. Recording is our specialty with countless hit songs to be recognized ny the masses in a most promising future. Ideally it is the greatest when the music plays you.
