The Blue Threads

The Blue Threads

What would have happened if The Stooges were the backing band for Jimi Hendrix with special guest guitarist Muddy Waters, and the songs were co-written by Syd Barrett and Kurt Cobain. And all this sound is coming through the fingers, voices, and minds of sixteen and seventeen year olds.

The Blue Threads started out n 2004 playing gigs around the Houston area. Dalton Dunn, long known regionally (even though he's currently 16 years old), as an up-and-coming Blues guitarist first played on stage at the age of 10 with Matt Leddy & the Meatcutters. Dalton has also jammed with Mark May and Tony Vega. Brandon Custer on drums, and bassist Judson Crouch (16 and 17 years old respectively), are both veterans of the School of Rock located in Austin,TX and have been performing for several years as well. It was last summer when the guys decided to get serious and booked several gigs in Houston- including the venerable Fitzgerald's- where legends such as BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan have performed. They also competed in the 2006 Inernational BLues Competition via the Houston Blues Society, winning 3rd place in Region among artists many years their senior. The got "the bug", following a few gig's on Austin's famous 6th Street th summer of '06, and decided that a CD was in their future. During Spring Break of 2007, The Blue Threads spent a week with Rock "Dr. Rockit" Romano at his Red Shack Recording Studio in Houston. The Blue Threads are inspired by and eclectic mix of Jimi Hendrix, The Stooges, Muddy Waters, SRV, The Jeff Beck Group, with some indie rock influence.

The Blue Threads released June 2007.
