Bio
Jarritt Sheel's BLU-TET, is a full fledge jazz groups based on the Horace Silver groups and the Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers concept, which we feel is the paradigm of performing original and standard jazz literature, while also combining improvisation with Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, and Blues music. To stand shoulder to shoulder with the titans of jazz music while also carving out our own individual niche.
The group, which was formed and led by Jarritt Sheel, was created in late 2008 and has been performing regularly in the Orlando area, holding residencies at: Underground Bluz, Natura Coffee & Tea, The Plaza Theatre, Tavern on the Lake, and The Peacock Room, since January 2009. The sound of the group can be described as Jazz-Punk-Funk, and has a very kinetic-energetic appeal. The source and inspiration for the forming of the group was the need for each member, whom are all ready very proficient in every facet of performing live music, of the ensemble to perform regularly. The group is definitely a vehicle for each member’s success and they are hoping that it takes them far on this journey.
The BLU-TET has several monthly events that they promote and perform at and these are: Friday Night Jazz, Saturday Night Live… Jazz, and the Digital Journey. Each event is about promoting live jazz music in the Orlando area, and educating the general public(audience) about live music and its positive affects on society’s development.
